Duncan & Allen LLP is pleased to announce that Natalie Karas joined the firm as Of Counsel on March 31, 2022.  Bringing over a decade of experience to Duncan & Allen, Ms. Karas most recently served as Senior Regulatory Attorney at the Environmental Defense Fund.  In that role, she successfully argued before the District of Columbia Circuit Court of Appeals that FERC’s orders granting a certificate to Spire STL Pipeline should be vacated.  In addition to her experience regarding interstate pipeline matters before FERC, Duncan & Allen’s clients will benefit from Ms. Karas’ experience in providing strategic advice and counsel to public power organizations, electric cooperatives, state agencies, and non-profit organizations regarding a broad range of energy-regulatory matters.

“I was absolutely thrilled when Natalie and I began discussing the possibility of her joining us at Duncan & Allen,” said Partner Jason Gray.  “Having worked with Natalie in private practice for six years and then serving as her outside counsel after she joined EDF, I have a deep appreciation for the quality of her skills, experience, and abilities.  Based on our prior work together I also knew that Natalie had the unique ability to step in start contributing immediately.  In fact, she was in on depositions on her second day with us and we haven’t looked back since.”
